Vladislav Tretiak, President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, announced that the organization’s General Director, Dmitry Kurbatov, will stand for election to the Council of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
“Dmitry Anatolyevich is one of the most experienced leaders in the Russian hockey industry. For over 30 years, he has been working for the benefit of our sport in high-responsibility positions, successfully managing key areas. His competence, strategic thinking, and efficiency are known throughout the hockey family.
By nominating Dmitry Anatolyevich for the IIHF Council, we hope for the support of our partners. Kurbatov is capable of tasks related to protecting the interests of Russian hockey, representing Russia with dignity on the international stage, and making a significant contribution to the development of world hockey,” Tretiak was quoted as saying by the “Hockey of Russia” Telegram channel.
