Voronezh’s Fakel has secured an immediate return to the Russian Premier League (RPL), guaranteeing at least second place in the First League with one matchday remaining.
On Wednesday, Fakel played out a goalless draw at home against SKA-Khabarovsk in the 33rd round of the First League. The result left the club with 65 points, ensuring they finish no lower than second in the standings. The top four also includes Moscow’s Rodina (62 points), Yekaterinburg’s Ural (58), and Volgograd’s Rotor (53).

This marks a swift return to the top flight for Fakel, who were relegated just a year ago. The club previously competed in the elite division of Russian football during the 1992, 1997, 2000, 2001, and 2022–2025 seasons.
