Mirandés had the chance to draw level with Cádiz, but that required overcoming Eibar at Anduva. The fans welcomed the players two hours before kickoff, yet once on the pitch, the match told a different story.
The visitors took the lead very early, just three minutes into the game, and then managed the advantage with great experience. “It’s time for self-criticism, to correct things and focus on the next match. I don’t know why we concede so early—whether it’s a lack of concentration or difficulty getting into the game from the start—but it’s totally unacceptable. We know it’s always tough to play from behind, especially in this division where teams defend very well,” said Rafel Bauza.
After conceding, the home side couldn’t break through Eibar’s defense, which handled the lead from start to finish. “We were up against a team that defends well and feels comfortable dropping into a medium-low block. They had warned us. As soon as they get ahead, they do things right. They play by managing the clock, and that made the game quite difficult for us.”
With only three finals left, survival is slipping further away despite the real gap. Three points separate Mirandés from Cádiz, but the yellow side holds the advantage on goal average. “Rather than doing the math, we’re taking it game by game. We know from now on every match is a final—next Saturday is another one, and we have a new opportunity. We’re motivated and eager to turn this around. The important thing is that the group is united and we believe we can do it,” highlighted the midfielder from the Balearic Islands.
